Kelly Beall, the founder and author of Design Crush, is a lover of art and smart design. Kelly spent her Thanksgiving holiday weekend curating son & dotter's latest addition to the shop - teak trays from Johansen & Faurschou - into her home and style.
Check out Kelly's personal take on these Danish trays. Hope you love it as much as we do!
The Trays are modular, versatile, and oh so modern with their clean lines and pops of color. I was really excited to see how I could incorporate them into my own home.
Since we're embarking upon the holiday season, I thought something festive would be fun. I wanted to keep two things in mind in doing so, clean Danish design and repurposing other household items. The combination of juice glasses, tea lights, and tiny ornaments made the perfect centerpiece for my kitchen table.
The Trays were equally at home on my bedroom dresser. The side-by-side configuration reminds me of a Mondrian painting and ended up being a great solution for displaying some of my favorite jewelry pieces and the white dishes I use to corral some of the rings and earrings I wear most.

about kelly of design crush
What began in June 2007 as a place to catalogue design inspiration and musings quickly turned into a design crush of massive proportions for Kelly. Keeping every post short and sweet, showing off anything and everything she's inspired by. Never anything she's not.
When undistracted by obscure and clever design finds, Kelly can be found making a mess in the kitchen, hanging out in dive bars and stalking professional mascots. Kelly shares her Oklahoma home with two laid-back cats (one a hypochondriac, the other a pillow) and two mischievous dogs.
